As usual, it depends on your reads. If you know your opponent bets the river 75% of the time you can find few spots better suited to the c/r. On the other hand if you know they are passive and rarely bet, but will call everything, obviously you bet.

***Grunch***

Hand 1:
Preflop: I would have called preflop. W/ the 8 as your kicker, it seems to me like we are playing this hand primarily for it's flush potential, not it's high card potential. So, to me, I don't want to scare off the rest of the field w/ cold calling preflop.

Flop: If I had a read on MP1 as a complete calling station, I agree w/ your raise, otherwise, I just call so as not to chase him out w/ a cold call.

Turn: I agree w/ the call.

2nd Hand:
I play this hand exactly like you did.

Hand #1:

PrefloP: A8s isn't a 3-bet hand for me, even if you are sure this guy is tilting. Were you hoping to isolate? The table is loose, people are going to call (I'm actually surprised to see them fold there).
Flop: Call here. Yes, you have outs with Aces as well as flush draw, but in the long run I think you are bleeding here.

Hand #2:
The hand looks fine except for the river play. Check raise there. I think your straight draw is well masked, and you'd likely get another BB from him and the 3rd player.

EDIT:
Bet/call/call = 3BB
check/bet/call/raise/call(or fold)/call(or fold) = 3+BB
