Default Wheelchair Access in Vegas

I've got a question for everybody. I had a really nasty back surgery last year, and I am currently wheelchair bound. My girlfriend is really pushing for a trip to Vegas, and I wonder how accessible things are there? One thing would be casinos in general, and another would be poker rooms? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One good thing about not being able to stand up; I should keep me away from the crap tables this time.. lol

Good luck all,

Fitz

I've seen many Vegas poker players who were in wheelchairs for various reasons. They don't seem to have any significant difficulties.

I expect it would be very easy to move through the hotel and casino. I'm sure their designers were required to take this into consideration.

Poker rooms shouldn't be much of a problem. When it's busy, the rooms at the Mirage and Bellagio can be very crowded. However, a simple "excuse me" should clear a path for you.

I think traveling outside along the Strip should be easy. The sidewalks are usually wide without any obstructions. At the major intersections there are bridges which pedestrians cross over. There is elevator access to these bridges.

Fitz-As Dynasty notes, virtually all areas in Vegas are accomodating to wheelchairs. I've seen players in regular wheelchairs and in those motorized "carts" at the poker tables. Anything short of a Hummer will fit! Come on out--playing poker will make your back feel better. Babe

Hey babe,

I'm sure my back will feel better after playing with all of you Vegas regulars, because I won't have all that heavy money to cart around afterwards... lol.

I was hoping to make it out for the WSOP, but it doesn't look like that is going to work out. I will let everybody know when I head out.

Thanks for all the info, and may the flop be with you.

I think they all have to be accessible now. All I can add is that I sometimes play with a full quadriplegic. He needs the dealer to put his cards on a rack and make his bets. He told me the Orleans was very good in accommodating him.(He also likes tournaments, so that influenced his decision)
