Default good spot for a turn semi-bluff?

UTG is 80/1/.5 after 60 hands
MP is 17/2/.5 after 30 hands

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

This is only good if you have a fair amount of fold equity. I think really loose passive players are the worst opponents to try this out on.

tough hand
i dont think playing back on the turn is a bad idea. and i dont think just calling is bad either. this is one of those grey ares. personally i do not like the bluff here because if he is drawing to a str8 or flush he will call you bet or raise and you will be forced to bluff at the river if you miss. so the hand has reverse implied odds.

I don't really like it because the 8 paired the board and the bettor may now have a very strong hand like a boat or trips. If an A or K had appeared, I'd like it more. You also have another opponent to worry about aside from the bettor that may have hit the turn with the 8. You won't get them to lay down their flush draw either but will give you fold equity on the river if they don't hit and happen to have a measly pair. So I think it's a pretty cool play overall, interesting in knowing what happened.
