Atlantic City Tournaments
Hey all:
I'm heading to AC tomorrow, and I'll be staying at the Borgata for the weekend. Obviously, I will be playing in the ring games at the poker room (I hope to avoid the horde of twoplustwoers that will be running the tables over), but my question here mainly pertains to the tournaments run at the Borg, and in AC in general. 1. I am considering playing in the Friday $100 rebuy multi. Has anyone played in this one, or other Borg multis, and what is your opinion of the general level of play? 2. Multis at the Trop (or any other casino)-same question concerning the Thursday and Friday rebuys, and the Sat freezeout. 3. Are there any poker rooms, including the Borg and the Trop, that offer 1-table tournaments? My friend, who is a frequent poster of abstract thoughts on the Sng forum, needs to make this a +EV trip. I'm sure all of these matter have been discussed previously, but, nonetheless, any comments are appreciated. |

Re: Atlantic City Tournaments
I played the $100 tourney about 2 months ago. I was not impressed at the level of play. But got frustrated at all of the rebuys. I was not willing to sit down and buy in 5 times like everyone else at my table. The rebuys were allowed for about 1.5-2 hours (forget exactly). I made it for about 2 hours after that before getting rivered by a guy I had busted out twice already, but he had rebought. So while the play at my table was not very good, I was frustrated knocking people out and really not getting much out of it. I am not a fan of rebuys, so if you like them you may like the tourney more.

Re: Atlantic City Tournaments
FWIW, a friend and I head down to AC for the Trop Saturday tournament every couple of weeks. One of us has been in the money almost every time we've played it. I would only consider us average in the realm of 2+2 readers.
The field at Borgata is probably a little softer (lots of people who just want to try a tournament cause they saw it on tv). All the Borgata tourneys are rebuy though, and I'm not a big fan. |

Re: Atlantic City Tournaments
Does anyone know if the daily tournaments at the Taj offer rebuys, and what the competition is like for them?

Re: Atlantic City Tournaments
I may be wrong, but I think that the Taj isn't hosting any daily tournaments right now while the Trump Classic is running. Anyone playing in the main event or any sats?
