Very true. Sometimes you can get into trouble assuming everyone reads 2p2 and plays as instructed. But the questions are: do you have a read on any of these opponents which will help in assigning them a hand range? If not, how likely is a random opponent to play a higher set or straight as they've thus far played their hands? Admittedly, I really don't know what I'd do in the heat of the moment. You're in a very tough spot. But based on what I know of how random players play hands of varying strengths on different boards, I'd like to think that I would get all the chips in on the turn and hope for the best. It's high variance, but I think it has the greatest expectation of all your available options.

I don't know what to do on the river after you called the turnand led with a check, so I will defer to more knowledgeable persons!

Bet the flop!

I have to run guys. More on my opponents tomorrow. For now...

on the river I checked,

UTG bet $65 (LOL!) and MP1 reraised all in. Quickly folded to me.

It's $3674 for me to call.

Against an unknown, I would not expect to be ahead here often enough to make a call.

Fold. Mp1's cold call on the turn should be some indication of strength. I think he was nice enough to push on the river to let you get away from your hand. He's going to show 69, or maybe a higher set, most likely 69 though.

I think you need to reraise the turn, to blast out the draws. Make it 2k to go. MP1 is the only one you need to worry about in that case, the other two guys will be allin.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you raise to 2k, and he pushes for 4k, you are now getting almost 4-1 to call.

If we know his range of hands is 88, 77, 64s, 64o, 96o and 96s, we still win 19.5% of the time, so we have to be 100% sure he doesn't have 2 pair if we are going to fold this.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep. If'n I raise the turn I ain't folding.

Frankly I don't know how fair it is to do that, but I can say right now that it makes an enormous difference in how I would play the hand in your shoes. PT#'s would be relevant information without really compromising people. I can think of 10-12 10/20 regulars who if they are in UTG & MP2 I'd drop it here because they are very likely slowplaying AA, 88, or 77. And for that matter I'm 90% certain I know who MP2 is just from the preflop raise ammount and I think he's very, very unlikly to have a higher set here, he'd fastplay it, he's likley got 910 or something with a 6 in it.

Lead the flop. Then the hand plays it self.

I love results oriented thinking. Considering the preflop action and his position, I believe check/raising is correct on this flop most of the time.

When I hit a flop hard and have multiple people between me and the pfr, I often like to lead out and trap people in between building a big pot. Do you feel that this thinking is flawed?

I too would try to go for the cheap showdown. I'm guessing the all-in has 96, most likely spades too.
