I heard this as well (the 3k event) while playing there this weekend. The dealers and management seemed excited about it.

However, I did not here the exact date of the tournaments. April would seem unlikely since it may conflict with the WSOP.

I saw the schedule. The first tournament is right before the WSOP and the second one is right after. I hope they're successful in attracting people back to the room.

thanks, i guess , i got a little excited, but the people i was talking to felt the bellagio was "trying to steal from wsop", because bellagio is so much better poker room, and the vegas horseshoe has financial worries and a public financial battle regarding the mall in downtown vegas..gl hope this generates some action on the strip...tyvm...

Default Is the Recession Hurting the Action?

I guess the action is a little slow there now. This is surprising.

The action during February was dented because of the big, month-long tournament at Commerce. Many of the Las Vegas pros are playing $20-$40, $30-$60, and $40-$80 at Commerce this month. It should pick up shortly.

Don't forget the dramatic drop in air travel everywhere since 9-11. That's why SouthWest is offering $34 round trip tickets from San Francisco to Las Vegas.
