So, since I didn't get in on the audio, is the pronunciation like "hackem" or "hashem" or something else? [/ QUOTE ] They were saying "HASH-em" on the cardplayer broadcast. |

pssss, 7.5 mil is not much money by Vegas standards...Of course it's real. [/ QUOTE ] No, it isn't. So I was all the more surprised (my first ever visit to LV last fall) to find that the then-Horseshoe had done away with its "See a million dollars!" exhibit that I remember reading about as a kid. Not that it ruined my stay in Vegas or anything, but it sorta drove home how cheap and tone-deaf to tradition the Binion heirs are. |

They could not even make the payroll when Harrah's bought them. She sold the bills in the exhibit to collectors. The bills were worth quite a bit more than face value. I loved that million dollar horseshoe, it was my only reason to go downtown. |

Re: Joseph Hachem - 2005 WSOP ME Champion
when i first saw Hachem's picture in the final 27 i would have never guessed he was an Aussie. he looked arab. when i found out his name it was obvious. now there's proof...
from espn http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/poker...ory?id=2109665 [ QUOTE ] The 39-year-old gambler from Melbourne moved with his family from his native Lebanon in 1972 and gave up a 13-year chiropractic career three years ago to play poker for a living. [/ QUOTE ] no doubt that he's a proud Aussie but im sure he's proud of where he came from as well. We can now add another great arab poker player to the list of many. Congrats Joe Hachem! |
