Default Losing more in one night than ever before

So I've lost over $2500 tonight. That is the largest amount of money I have ever lost playing poker. The weird thing is I am not too bothered right now. I mean I get pissed about a bad beat here and there (I've had a lot), but it's not bothering me too much. Looking back at my play I can't find any major mistakes.

If I told any of my friends or my parents about this, they would be in shock. I'm 20 years old so that's a lot of dough. Should I be more upset about such a large loss?

Edit: Just realized someone posted a very similar post. Sorry about that.

What limits are you playing? I've lost $2k in an hour at 10/20 3-tabling 2-3 handed games...don't worry about it, just think about where the tilt set in, where you called down incorrectly because you hadn't won a pot in 3 orbits, where you didn't bother to hand-read and missed an easy value bet when you finally had the best hand.

I'm just saying, these sessions are great learning opportunities, take advantage of them.

For certain as you move up in limits your losses will get larger and larger. The coefficient of variance gets worse as your hourly rate increases. If you are handeling this well its a good thing.

I know I dumped over $3k in a day before when I was playing 15/30. It bothered me, but not nearly as much as I would have thought it would back when I started out playing the nanolimit games. It helped that in the time leading up to that date, I'd proved to myself that I was a winning player, and learned to expect variance and the odd downswing. Of course, it didn't help that I immediately lost another $1k the next day.

Basically, as long as you are properly bankrolled for the game you're playing, a single bad night should not be a "my life is over" kind of thing.
