Default Too conservative?

Two moves I made in a recent Super Weekday satellite SnG...

#1 - 7 players left, I have 500 chips, blinds are 25/50. I am BB and UTG pushes all-in for 900 chips. Its folded around to me and I folded AQs.

#2 - same tournament, 6 players left, I have 1100 chips now, blinds 50/100 and I get 99 UTG. I folded it.

Were these moves too conservative? My thinking was that I still had enough time to wait for a better hand than AQs, and with 99 I didnt want to run smack into domination by TT+ or a 50/50 shot, and didnt figure to be called by anything less.

Hand 1: It's pretty hard to figure out the EV of this call without having a decent read. Basically figure out his push range, and call if the pot odds dictate a call given your equity against that range.

Hand 2: I think this is a bad fold in a satellite. The chance of running into TT+ is only about 12%, and you'll still win 18% of the time you are called by these hands. And remember when you're up against overs, it's not 50/50, but 55/45 in your favor. Add folding equity, and this is a pretty easy push imo.

#1 seems ok, #2 is a pretty bad fold 6-handed

I'm folding the first, but open raising the 9's.

2 would have been ok 8 or 9 handed, I think, but not 6-handed. Shove.
