I count 14 outs, not just 12 -- eight clubs (since the 8 is in Villians hand), three Jacks (already counted the club), and three Kings (since Villian only had a pair of Qs). And what were you refering to when you said "11 of them nuts"? You have the nut flush draw and the nut straight draw... clearly the three Ks wouldn't give you the nuts, but you didn't seem to count them; your 11 other outs would.

How about a preflop raise?

Why are these posts always the same? I over-played my hand, somebody called me on it, and I argued with them at the table. Yuck.

Preflop: raise this! You've got a poster and a weak call from the Button.

Flop: 3-betting is useless...there's no value, your "feel" to the contrary notwithstanding, because YOU'RE not likely enough to improve (against his ace-rag, A9 you're really in a world of shi7) to be putting 50% of the money in.

Turn: if you hadn't 3-bet the flop like a turd you could have c/r'd and gotten an extra bet in here. Nice playing.

River: your stats for Villan are WAY off...either that or he was tilting.

I never turn off chat. It's a great chance to get reads on people. Why you would deny yourself that is beyond me.

But, when someone tells me "You got lucky" I usually respond with "???" or "lol" and watch them tilt. Funny thing is I had almost this exact same thing happen the other day when I hit the nut flush on the turn. Of course he tilted and I busted him out with his all-in the next hand.

The bigger problem is that you're HU. You can still play aggressively OOP if you have a read that your opponent(s) is weak-tight and might fold the turn for one more bet, but since that isn't your read, you don't have enough equity to make this 3-bet.

Very valid point. I actually go back and forth (but I play nanos and I find it just distracts and annoys me more than helps). However, I think if you are going to get sucked into a conversation like the original post, turning it off might be best.

Raise preflop. There is nothing interesting about this hand postflop. Don't talk outs at the table.
