That is beacause you didn't. On the flop you either have to bet or CR. I prefer leading 1/3 pot and then push if raised.

BTW you want someone with Q-6-xx to try and take the high part of this pot, but you want to make him pay to do it.

Well, I guess I disagree. A pot bet first time around is reasonable, straightforward play. A 1/3 pot bet will usually just suppress a bet from someone else.
