Default ***Official Event 23 FT Thread***

Thought I'd get it going as I'm sure others are keeping track. Thus far the best FT lineup in the WSOP in my opinion.

There is a much larger than usual crowd here today, probably due to the big names at the final table for Event #22 ($1,500 No-Limit Hold'em). Here are their starting chip counts:

1. Greg Raymer - $613,000 (seat 8)
2. Peter Lee - $461,000 (seat 7)
3. Minh Nguyen - $378,000 (seat 1)
4. David "Devilfish" Ulliott - $338,000 (seat 2)
5. Steve Rassi - $325,000 (seat 3)
6. Mark Seif - $305,000 (seat 9)
7. James Steve Carter - $263,000 (seat 5)
8. Bill Gazes - $181,000 (seat 6)
9. Webber Kang - $166,000 (seat 4)

ESPN is still prepping the players for taping, and the final table likely won't start until after 2:30 pm. Here are the payouts they'll be playing for:

1st - $611,145
2nd - $329,975
3rd - $202,790
4th - $175,010
5th - $147,230
6th - $119,450
7th - $91,670
8th - $63,895
9th - $47,225

Default Peter Lee

Anybody have any more info on this guy? Came in second in chips..... looking at his track record I see nothing of value.

Just curious.

Peter Lee

Title: Update
Log: Hand 11 - Seif has the button in seat 9, Seif limps from the button for $16,000, Nguyen raises to $50,000 from the small blind, and Seif folds.

Hand 12 - Nguyen has the button in seat 1, Raymer raises to $40,000, and Ulliott calls. We have the first flop of the day! The flop comes 8d-7d-3h, and both players check. The turn card is the 5c, Ulliott bets $60,000, and Raymer stares him down from behind his trademark specs with the unblinking reptilian eyes. Raymer then counts out the chips and makes the call. The river card is the 10s, Ulliott bets $80,000, and Raymer calls. Raymer shows pocket sixes, and Ulliott mucks his cards. Raymer wins the pot.

I wish they'd give estimated chip counts after big hands.

Hand 41 - Gazes has the button in seat 6, Carter raises all in for $67,000, and Raymer calls. Carter shows Kc-10h, while Raymer has Js-7s. The flop comes As-10d-8h, and Carter makes a pair of tens to hold onto the lead. Raymer can catch a nine, a jack, or a runner-runner flush to eliminate Carter. The turn card is the 6d, and Raymer is down to seven outs. The river card is the 2c, and Steve Carter has doubled up in chips.

Title: Greg "Fossilman" Raymer Eliminated in 6th Place ($119,450)
Log: Hand 60 - Kang has the button in seat 4, Raymer moves all in for $137,000, and Kang calls. Kang shows As-Jc, while Raymer has pocket threes (3h-3c). It's another race situation, and the flop comes Jd-9h-6s, and Kang has improved to a pair of jacks. Raymer will need to catch a three to stay alive. The turn card is the Qs, and Raymer is down to his last chance with two outs. The river card is the 4d, and Greg "Fossilman" Raymer is eliminated in sixth place, earning $119,450.

The next player eliminated will receive $147,230 for fifth place.

Congratulations, Greg.
