Re: Getting thrown out of a Vegas poker room
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] So, two things. 1.) You got over self esteem problems at 10, but couldn't get past the name-calling that 6 year olds do? 2.) Because insults don't bother YOU, EVERYONE should be able to take them in stride, too? You're a cocky, inconsiderate jackass, and you don't even know it. It's ridiculous that you think your behavior was okay. What do you gain out of insulting the guy? You probably aren't very good at poker, so the things you could gain (chips) are wasted. Please, continue with your life, but let everyone else live theirs without berating them. [/ QUOTE ] Go back and re-read. I'm not the name-caller. Nor am I defending the name caller. He's a drunken jackass. What I'm saying is that I can't believe this many people worry so much about such petty crap. [/ QUOTE ] My mistake and apologies. You are not the name caller. Still, I don't understand why you don't understand how someone could find in hurtful. I think the name old man winter is hilarious, and would use with someone I knew very closely (in an endearing way, mind you). But to a complete stranger? C'mon, it's weak tight at best. |

This thread is so not going the way I had hoped but the sheer number of posters who think I should be physically harmed for calling someone old man winter is hilarious. Oh and I definitely need my level changed to drunken jackass but location will do for now. |

[ QUOTE ]
when I do go to a B&M, such behavior is fairly mild and pretty standard. I would think a player would need multiple visits from the floor before getting tossed for language / abuse. [/ QUOTE ] Where do you play? I want to know where not to play. |

Re: Getting thrown out of a Vegas poker room
I was at a charity poker event once and there was a man I knew casually at the neighboring table. A young punk made a remark about his tattoo to which the man gave him a stern warning. The kid continued to run his mouth about the man being too old to fight, made some jokes about the old guy needing Viagara, etc. They went outside and a lot of people enjoyed watching the old man teach the young smart mouth a lesson. The old man was a retired Navy Seal Self-defense instructor. Perhaps someday you'll play poker with him too.

Re: Getting thrown out of a Vegas poker room
What an amusing thread.
I think it's okay to be a drunken jackass at the table within reason. Afterall....it's Vegas....it's live poker...there's drinking. but if you're going to be a drunken-jackass at the table why not try to be a fun one instead of being an absolute dick. Also - everybody is taking the OP at his word that there really was obvious collusion taking place. There are many drunks who smell collusion when it's really not taking place at all. Doesn't anybody think that drunken-jackass guy might not have the best handle on how to spot collusion? Afterall...he certainly doesn't have much of an idea on how to properly handle such potential collusion situations. I, for one, am not willing to just 'take his word for it' that there really was collusion taking place. |

And I am fairly certain if anyone else at the table would have spoken up to you in the way you spoke to them, you'd be scared like a little girl. Therefore: you + insulting old man = weak; you + backing off when confronted = tight You are pathetic regardless, due to your ability to pick on old men. |

[ QUOTE ]
There are enough bigger issues to worry about than jackasses like the op. [/ QUOTE ] This is stupid. Like sitting at the poker table thinking about world hunger is gonna change the world. A lot of things are more important than a lot of other things. This doesn't mean we shouldn't worry about them. Also berating other players is against house rules therefore he doesn't have the right. |

Re: Getting thrown out of a Vegas poker room
When I am the floor, in both instances you get 1 warning then you get tossed. Simple, cut & dry. Your bad for the game.
When I am the dealer, in both instances you'll have the floor called. However I will personally give you a stfu warning the first time. Then the floor. And if your really being a prick I will also tell the floor I'm dealing around you. What usually happens then is you go ballistic and the floor now tosses you. Then the players start tossing me............ REDBIRDS!! .....for a job well done. |
