Specifically looking for comments on the river, but I'm wondering if waiting for the turn to raise was good in this situation. |

Re: AKo hand
Raise that flop! You gotta push the single spades off. Fold to a re-raise.
I'd probably call the river, just to see what he has for later information. |

Re: AKo hand
I like this flop/turn play if your opponents are tight or semi tight. You cannot protect your hand from the 1 card flush on the flop and push your equity on the turn when the blank hits. If you opponents are loose you really do want to raise on the flop to deny the odds for any straight draws.
Popping the turn can also scare people into thinking YOU have the flopped flush and you will soon know if anyone legitimately does. this is my thinking maybe it's flawed and this part of my game is very weak (decisions on when to push your equity edge). I make a crying call on the river. |

Yeah, but they don't know what. I'd still raise for its read value.

Re: AKo hand
We're not giving any reads, but I've got to believe that a raise on the flop gets most of the small clubs, and some of the medium clubs to fold. No?

Re: AKo hand
I pop this flop, heres 3 reasons why
1) I often expect to be ahead. 2) Mulitple opponents might be chasing the same draw, I want their money in the pot. 3) I'll have a very good idea on the turn if im beat. |

Re: AKo hand
hey jon, your play was fine on the first three streets. you let position play out by just calling on the flop and i see nothing wrong with popping the turn instead of the flop. as for the river, i sigh and call, but remember to take nots on what the SB had if you happen to play another hand with the SB.
best of luck, fuji |
