Default Late Blind Stealing

Here is the situation. You have 60k in chips. 21 players left. 18 cash. You are the chip leader. No one else at your table has more than 35k. Blinds are 600/1200 with a 100 ante. 5 players in the tourney have less than 5k.

Folded to you in the CO. Button has 12k. SB has 14k after posting. BB has 8k after posting his blind.

Which of the following hands are you most likely to steal with.

doenst make too much difference they are going to move in on you if they think your stealing, its unlikely you will be called, any raise commits to calling an all-in and I think the hand that will do best on an all-in situation here is k6o

33 does best. I raise with every one though.

7-5..

I prefer to steal with junk, so if the blinds come over the top all in, I'm not tempted to call.. with ace-rag, I might be tempted, thinking he's on a small pp and I'm racing...

with 7-5 it's a much easier fold..

all of them.
I might even raise enough to pot-commit myself to an all-in from the BB, just to send the message (if that does happen and I show down one of those hands) that I will gamble with them to bust them, and do they want to risk that on the bubble?

I didn't answer the poll - all of these are potential blind stealing hands.

By definition, a blind steal is any hand you raise with but fold to a reraise. Otherwise, it's a value raise. Blind stealing has much more to do with stack sizes, position, and images than with hand values. Start thinking about your image, the stubborness/aggressiveness of the players left to act behind you, and tourney considerations when thinking about blind stealing. Note, you can make decisions like this before your cards are even dealt to you.

K6 is the hand to steal with. The others would not be considered stealing in my rule book.

I couldn't agree more. If I have folded preflop the 4 previous hands, I'd steal with any of those hands. If I have raised the last 4 consecutive pots, of those hands I'd only raise with 33 and fold the others.

I'm pushing with all of them, but I'm happiest with 33.
