Why would villain pick on someone else when TC is so generous with his chips?

I folded a long time ago so I wouldn't have to worry my little mind about making something out of two 7s.

you know, this reminds me of something that Double Eagle said to me the other day when we had lunch together and he was talking about his progression as a tournament player:

"I must be getting better since I'm finally getting my chips in as an underdog"

To steal a line from Paul Phillips , if this sounds like madness to you, keep thinking about it until it doesn't.

This is the hand that I clearly played the most poorly in the tournament.

I made two big mistakes. 1) On the flop, I should have re-raised or folded, simple as that.

2) I should have bet the turn and let him come over the top of me again if he wants to steal the pot.

Results:

Villian has TJo for a rivered pair of jacks, I call, and get down to 8k and never recover.

I said:

you don't think he gets the same message if he makes it 3500 on the flop?
I can't imagine him reraising us w/ something we beat or calling and betting into us with something we beat.

I want to protect my pair now while it's still likely the best hand. I don't want him to back into a top pair and feel pc'd.

I play goot.

I am sitting on about 15k early in the first day. Blinds are 50/100 and I am one of the biggest stacks at my table. Player in question has me covered, as he busted Spirit Rock a few hands ago. He has been very aggressive, raising very often and winning pots uncontested.

He raises to 300, I call with A7c in the button. Flop is 972 rainbow. He checks, I bet 600, he makes it 1700. What's my plan?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was at Spirit Rock's table - seat 4..

Are you the dude that was in seat 2?

It wasn't long after you left.. I got busted by the guy between us (the pokerstars guy, quiet asian fella)

He got pushed off a few pots so he thought I was doing it, and pushed with QQ.. I had AA and he turned the Q to send me home..
