Default NL600...incorporating the mini-raise to my offense

I used to *never* mini-raise, but now I'm finding spots where it might be useful. Once I mini-raised the original raiser on the turn after smoothcalling the flop when I had 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on button on a 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]) turn, and got him to block bet the river, which I promptly raised and he folded.

Now onto the hand in question:

Villian is both loose and terrible. He raises too much and speculates too much. He raised on button with T6o and called a big limp-reraise. He paid off AA on a 46A (6) (5) board. Even thinking a long time before calling the turn and river bets, indicating he was scared when he should have rushed to call.

His numbers on 81 hands:

58.02% VP$IP PR Raise % = 29.63. Pretty aggressive on the flop and the river.

All comments appreciated.

Results to follow.

I don't understand your line or what your representing. Check river, as you just said villain pays off too much (meaning will probably call with any hand you're behind).

firstly, if you want to minraise..I think you should do it on the flop on the first hand. that kind of minraise often causes villans to overplay their overpairs, but if you do it on turn, it often scares them too much.

I think you should have checked behind the river. I don't see what kind of hand you are trying to represent after the turn check...plus you mentioned villan is a donkey and donkeys like to call..so you should just showdown your hand because it has decent showdown value..you will only get called by worse hands with that river bet.

After the turn check, i think you will have to check this river. He will probably fold if he was on a straight draw but call with most off the better hands. He might also call with 56 but it feels unlikely.

But if you think he will fold a seven or a eight with bad kicker why not go for it. But it sounded like he was a loose caller.

And thinking about the other hand (56), if he is capable oof the blockbet he is either inducing a bluff or have a hand he dont wanna call with. would he block bet a 7 or a 8 with a bad kicker ?

And as someone else said a turn raise is scary. I like flop minraise better.

garland, just simply remove the "Texas" on top of HH so it reads "NL Hold'em" instead of "NL Texas Hold'em"

It'd be nice if bison could come up with a update, but until then..that's the temporary fix.

Just type out the action by hand. This hand history is a mess to read, and it looks like you edited it anyway, so why not just rewrite the whole thing?

Default Results and thoughts...

He thought for about 20 seconds and folded, so I was almost positive it was a good bluff here.

When he called the mini-raise, it sent an alert to my head: he has a hand. However, he was afraid. Once the K came on the turn and he checked the river, I was pretty sure he had a 7, 8 or an overpair that couldn't beat the K, so I bet the river.

I'm looking to use the mini-raise more often to fine tune my game.

And in regards to the hand history, I used pokerhand.org, but neglected to remove or change the opponents' names (as well as my own). Thanks for the tip, Allinlife.
