Default Quads over quads 4-way!!!! (no content)

First time I've seen quads over quads.

(I'm not sure how I feel about either my preflop raise or my flop raise. Actually, I'm 98% sure my flop raise was bad.)

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, Button calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Hero calls, Button calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB caps</font>, Hero calls, Button calls.

Turn: (10.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, Hero calls, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Hero calls, Button calls.

River: (19.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, Hero folds, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Button calls $2.12 (All-In), BB calls.

Final Pot: 25.87 BB

Results below:
BB has Kd Kh (four of a kind, kings).
Button has Ts Td (four of a kind, tens).
Outcome: BB wins 25.87 BB.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you always have more than 12 BB in your stack at all times.

Edit: Derf. I guess button saved himself money by running out. However, the above point is still true.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and ridicule your play
Actually, I'm just wondering about preflop. I am new to 6-max play, but shouldn't you fold 98s UTG?

I hate that preflop raise from UTG.

Cool hand though.

Even 4-handed, I'd fold this UTG.

Button should have lost more money with the quad T's. Always have 12BBs ready when starting a hand!

I raise 98s i 6 max about 35% of the time. It's not really a big deal.

I think it may be slightly wrong, but it's really close.

First, it's almost 100% necessary to ridicule the OP's play in a no-content post. I do it all the time.

No, for semi-real content.

Keep in mind, UTG = CO.

Still, I think that I may have thought at the time that my 98s was T9s.

I think that JTs is pretty much 100% open-raise, T9s less, 98s even more less, and 87s pretty much never.

So, basically, there's a decent-sized chance I shoudn't have been involved in this hand. After all, poker is a high card game.

It's not neccesarily that close; not if you have good bowstaff skills.

I know it's 6 max, and this is micro, but here's some food for thought.

I probably play JTo about 1/3 of the time UTG and QJo/KTo about 3/5 of the time. I always play KJo, and don't think it's close. Always play 66, very often play 55, occasionally 22-44. A7s/A6s/A5s probably about half the time. J9s and T9s I'm guessing 85% of the time, T8s and 98s maybe half the time , 87s and 76s sometimes but not usually. K9s should be played almost always. All of these hands are played for a raise barring exceptional circumstances.
