Default Re: Split the NL forums again?

It seems like there's a clear need for a split, if for no reason other than there seems to be a significant desire for it.

The mid stakes players aren't getting justice for their hands because people don't seem to care about them at all. The separation of small stakes from mid and mid stakes from high will also eliminate irrelevant "well, i don't play this level but..." replies.

I think that it's important for the success of the forum for players who have become accomplished at one level and moved up to post back in that level. Everyone wants El D to grace them with his advice but it's gotta work both ways. If that actually happened more some of the issues people have with the split wouldn't be so bad.

After seeing the madhouse that is the SSNLHE forum the last few days, I'll add my voice as a vote to split. The amount of posting there is becoming crazy. There's 2 pages worth of new threads every day now at the minimum. For volume alone, there should be a split.

Plus in the last few months, I think there's been an increase in the number of NL200 and NL400 hands being posted. These high end SS'ers aren't being served by either forum. Beating a dead horse, but 3 forums, Small/Mid/High would seem to work well.

Small NL: .5/1 and lower (and 1/2 live games?)
Mid NL: 1/2 - 3/6
High NL: 5/10 and above

[/ QUOTE ]

That seems good to me. Subdividing it even further is just getting too convoluted. But I'll add my voice that the MHNL definitely NEEDS to be split!!!

this seems to be the consensus.

i think that 5-10 plays different enough from 2-4 and 3-6 to be in the high limit forum.

so whats the next step to do this AZK?

As a person who just moved to 1-2 I can say that a split would be most helpful. Posting these hands and getting an ABC answer is really useless.

Not to mention that when you check back in ten minutes to look at responses, the thread is already half way down the second page.

Perhaps all the 1/2 through 3/6 hands can be posted in the "forum suggestions" forum, since nobody else is using it.

As a 2/4 player, I find the neither forum quite applicable, and would love a midstakes forum.

Not sure about 5-10 and up, but I think the forum should def. split for:
1-2 under
2-4 to 3-6

I think it should definitely be 1/2-3/6 and not only 2/4-3/6 just from a volume perspective. No one plays 3/6.

Indeed, I play 2/4 over 3/6 mainly because the games are better and there is never a wait, its not a matter of skill or bankroll concerns. And when I move up I'm pretty sure I'll skip 3/6.
