Default Raise the flop, turn, river??

First hand with villain. I'm thinking I should have raised on the flop but QQ, JJ kept running through my head (I feel like I played it scared).

Add MP1 to your buddy list.

Other than that, if you could cap the flop it would be great.

Yeah, capping the flop would've let me know what he had for cheaper than 3-betting the turn.

Flop, meet raise. Raise, meet flop.

you need to raise the flop for value.
doing so will make him committed to the pot and give you a better idea of what kind of hand he might be holding.
if he caps the flop, wait for action on the turn. if he keeps giving you action, slow down.

His preflop betting is KK maybe? He bets out flop because he has a higher pair than the board, and he is defending against flush draw. Hell, Ive seen maniacs bet AK the same way though or people with Q 10 figuring if they pair, then they are good because only AK caps. Dang. How did this turn out?

With me lamenting the fact that I'm an incredible sissy. I was worried about QJ (who caps that?), QQ and JJ. I got way too fixated on those.

He had KK and I took it down...just like you thought (and I should have thought.)

The distressing part is I capped another flop an hour later with AA and kind of pussed out on it. I'll post it now.

Default If I get wired aces against you...it won\'t hurt a bit.

Two hours later at another table...

Final Pot: 8.75 BB

As you see he didn't check-raise the flop or the turn (with AK I'd usually do it on the turn and get the crying call on the river)...BUT I CHECKED THE FREAKIN' RIVER!

Granted he may not even consider calling, but at PP 1/2 I'd say there's at least at 50 per cent chance I get the call. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB

I think Ed Miller is going to recall the copy of SSHE that I'm 2/3 of the way through. It's helping...I just have to stop freaking out when the pots get big or the board is scary.

Im guessing worst case scenario here, but UTG+1 has like QJs and he hit a backdoor flush and figured you would bet again so he could raise your river? Otherwise he's got some crap like 10 10 and was hoping to sell you on AK but you didnt buy the bet on the flop so he decided to check down?

Pretty much...he had pocket queens. I figure in that one night I left about $10 (5 BB) on the table. Not good.
