Default When should I get my Dell 2001FPP?

When should I get a Dell 20 inch monitor so I can multitable? With my current monitor, there is major overlap with just 2 tables at max resolution. I can only afford to use money from my bankroll, of which I have about $750, is it more +EV to get one now or wait until my bankroll gets bigger (if so how muchbigger?)?

if you're still playing 1/2 you probably shouldnt be playing more than 2 tables anyways.

You can get a much cheaper CRT that will do much better than your current monitor. A 2001FP is a luxury, not a necessity. Spend your money on books so you can learn more, get better, and move up.

I agree.

P.S. I've seen usable and decent imaging 19 inch CRT's, which can get you four tables with no overlap, for under a hundred bucks on sale many times.

I disagree with the responses so far and probably the ones to come. The crud monitor he has right now is like a bicycle, a 19" CRT is like a Geo Metro and a 2001fp is like a Honda Civic. Surely you wouldn't dissuade a man from buying a decent car, right?

If I were to start over with a $1,000 bankroll (which it seems the OP has), the first thing I'd do is buy a 2001fp. The extra tables would allow me to make the cost back within 2 weeks.

The 2001 is so nice on the eyes. You can make up the money in bonus whoring real fast.

If you've got the desk space, I'd got with CRTs. I was able to get two refurbished 21" Dell Flat Screen CRTs for a total of $325 shipped (Overstock.com). Haven't had a problem with either one. Pretty cheap way to get 8-tabling capability.

I'm kind of new here so I'm curious as to how you guys muli-table. I play three tables at once(weak) using MTH. Is a new monitor going to actually let me see all the tables without overlay at once? Another question should I use MTH if I can see all the tables at once?

I bought an Nvidia quattro video card to enable dual-monitoring for less than $20 on ebay. Then 2 19" CRT's used via ebay and amazon, each at less than $100 with S&H. (Samsung Syncmaster 955df if interested) Set resolution at 1600X1200 and it works beautiful. 8 tables with no overlap. Unfortunately, I often play more. I should stop that.

You do need desk space though. Lots of it.
