Default PokerEDGE Down For Anyone Else?

Didn't notice any threads on this. It went down last night for me and is still down. I also can't access their forums. Anyone else facing the same problem?

It's all down for me too, bet it's due to such a flood of people coming to read about this on the forums, ask their own million questions, cancel their subscriptions, or even learn for the first time what PE is. It probobly just crashed all of their servers, like being slashdotted.

I doubt they will give up so easily, they will prolly make it available for stars or some other site I would assume.

I'm guessing they are history as well. I assume if they could configure it for Stars they would have by now. I don't play on Party anyway. Who knows really though but for those who don't want to wait and hope all you have to do is get Poker Sherlock which does pretty much the same thing but works on most sites including Prima, Stars, Pacific, UB, Tribeca sites, and others. You can get a free trial of it at http://pokersherlock.com/trysherlock.html

I heard they were trying to modify the app so Party couldn't find it. This sounds sketchy as HELL, and I want no part of that. As soon as you admit guilt, you're playing a dangerous game.

To be honest, I don't think they'd be as lenient with folks who have been warned then have downloaded the fix to try to elude them. If caught, I would expect they would probably close your account and confiscate your funds. Given their detection capabilities, which can detect any program running on your computer, it would only be a matter of time I would think before users become busted.

The "fix" is partial at best. It simply randomizes the name in the process list. However, if you look in the Applications tab it still says Poker-Edge is running. Randomize that as well and you've got something that's damn tough to detect beyond screen-scraping.

Yea, they could look on your drive and see it exists, but that goes beyond the T&C. It's only things you have running that violate the T&C.

PokerEdge is making way too much money...
Based on their Alexa traffic stats...
I would guess $50,000 to $100,000/month...
For those guys to just throw in the towel.

Also...
Few people believe that profiling = cheating.

There are 2 failsafe ways...
To make programs invisible to Spyware.

(1) Run it on another machine on the network.

(2) Run the Poker Client in a virtual space...
Created by an app like VMWare.
All the Poker Client can ever see...
Is the "virtual Windows computer" created by VMWare.

PokerEdge should just license...
Something like VMWare...
And carry on.

It just amazes me...
When people believe that Spyware...
Cannot be controlled absolutely...
By the owner of a computer.

The game has just begun.
