Default Online poker on Christmas and New Years Day?

Last year at this time I wasn't playing online.

What do you think will happen on a Sunday that is Christmas?
New Years Day?

Will traffic die?
Remember all those football games/parties on New Years day.

oh come on, spend time with your family, then get wasted.

There's more to life than poker.

It's a holiday...holidays are usually pretty busy.

I think we had some similar Q's last year on Super Bowl Sunday and as I recall the poker-games picked up quite a bit as the game was winding down and people were coming back home (perhaps a bit plastered) from various Super Bowl parties.

On XMas...I can very much see the games will be pretty hoppin'...especially in the evening.
People don't spend the WHOLE freaking time bonding with their families.
And some people are buying new computers for XMas too and will want to try them out.

My hunch would be the same for New Year's Day. As people wake-up and recover from their New Year's eve hangovers they'll just be lounging about the house playing on the internet.

You'd be surprised at how crowded the live casinos get on Christmas night. People spend the day with their families...and then get bored and have nothing to do.

It's quite a busy day for the live casinos in Tunica, Mississippi where I play (not sure how crowded it is in Vegas...without a lot of tourists around I don't think they get too excessively crowded).

I'd be curious how many people out there are actually playing on New Year's Eve (which most certainly will not be including me).

Then it doesn't matter what he does, he's going to HELL unless he takes Jesus as his Lord and Personal Saviour.

(couldn't resist.)

You should realize that at least Pokerstars is expecting a very light christmas day, they changed there $500 buy in $750,000 guaranteed tourny to a $100,000 added tourny.

They took away the guarantee and figured they would lose less $$ by just giving away a free $100,000.

At least thats how I see it.

Yeah, they gave a bunch of their dealers the day off, too. But they do plan to stay open. Even if it snows.
