From tvguide.com if you search for poker this comes up next Thursday:

The $1m Fulltiltpoker.net Invitational, a Texas Hold'em even in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The elite seven-man field features Phil Hellmuth, Gus Hansen, John Juanda, Chris Ferguson, Dave Ulliot, Phil Ivey and Mike Matusow. Analyst: Howard Lederer, Announcer: Barry Tompkins Starting at 6pm ET on FSN

Seems like some of them are invited partly for interesting personalities.

It is live (on a 5 min delay) and this was the tournament I was referring to earlier. It's taking place just after Monte Carlo Millions. In other Millions news, the winner of their Consolation tournament will get a seat at the Millions final table (with 10x the big blind).

the tricky part is convincing your family or wife that poker is a fun thing to watch on thanksgiving.

Correct, the consolation tournament consists only of those players eliminated from the Millions tournament, which is a 25k buyin and a max of 120 players. The conso tournament starts at 3pm local time on the 22nd.
