Preflop is a fold to me against an unknown. You're hand is often dominated by an early position raise.

Flop you should raise for value. If villain 3-bets you should start fearing a better a hand. In this case I would calldown UI.

The way you played it I suspect villain has the same hand as you or AK maybe. A flopped straight seems unlikely since few people raise JTs from EP. KK and QQ are less likely since there only one combo of each. 88 and 99 deserves some consideration. I'd just calldown since there seems to be fewer hand we're ahead of.

I agree.

Preflop is raise or fold for me. I'm playing almost exclusive 2/4 Party, and on balance against an unknown, I'm finding that even if I don't have pot equity in this situation, villain is so bad you'll outplay him to make it up.

That said, we should have raised the flop to get a handle on where we are. If he reraises us there, we can reasonably narrow him to a big queen, an overpair, a set, or him getting out of line with 98s. If he just calls we're more than likely ahead unless he's much trickier than the average party 2/4 player.

I think we probably just peel down from the turn forward given the way you played it on the flop.

This isn't the purpose of a raise either.

It's not the primary purpose, certainly, but in a hand like this, we are raising for value, and to define our hand, and lastly to see how he reacts to our show of strength.

Better?

88's and 99's possible but I think unlikely from UTG+1 pf raiser

fwiw,SSHE says KQs vs raise in ep is playable. Not suited definitely a fold but suited helps out in domination situations. agreed that you don't necessarily want to be heads up, but with two players from ep in already, very often will get another player or two

I routinely dump KQs to an EP raiser if I'm next to act. But then again I ain't "crushing" anything lately either...
