i'd like a bigger reraise pf and a raise on the turn. 1/4 pot bet is just lame.

*Grunch*
I have been in this situation before too. I am guessing that villain had 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or he made a set of 5's or 10's, and had put you on a high pair -- j's or better. Personally, at the limit you are playing your preflop raise looks fine. But at the flop, minus any reads, that raise from MP3 is concerning, and I would consider folding right then.

tough hand

since you posted it, I'll guess you lost, but I don't think there was any getting away.

Like he he said - bigger raise pre-flop. AA can be a very expensive hand if you run into 2 pair or a set. You must make people pay to draw out against you.

I was looking at my AAs, the other day. I've only folded 4/100 post flop. It was either when the top card paired the turn/river, or to a 4 flush.

I'd probably have been more aggressive post-flop. After the check/raise a set is definitely a possibility, but a lower over-pair or AT is more likely. I think the 4 is a good card for you since it cuts down the set possibilities. As played I call the all-in.

I'd probably re-raise the flop mini-raise, and the turn

Hmmm.... Could it be a missed Flush draw?

QQ? and he thought his overpair was good and the river sealed the deal?

TT and flopped a set? When the board paired, he tossed out a small bet. Once he saw that you were calling, he went for the kill on the river.

PF, I think your raise was ok. Uggg hate these hands.

Tough to toss AA... not sure I could do it yet. But you are prob beaten.

A number of people suggest re-raising the flop or raising the turn, I would just like to know what the thinking is behind this? Is it the best way to maximize value against the hands I beat? I was thinking that it gives some such hands a chance to get away, and at the same time costs the most if villian has a set. Furthermore, I was not very worried about the flush draw after the flop raise, I thought it most likely that the villian had only 2-3 outs so I wasn't too worried about free cards. Perhaps some cards kill my action if I am ahead, though, such as an overcard to the T if villain holds AT.

Hmm.

No reads is the key. The median SSNL player just limps w/ small pairs & suited connectors. Villian raised, making it unlikely that he flopped the set.

That said, against the median player, you're way ahead coming into the turn which is why you'd want to get as much $ as possible into the pot.
