Default Burning CDs on CD-RW

Hi,

I am trying to burn music to a CD-RW. A message along the lines "there is no disk in the drive" or "please insert a disk" keeps popping up.

If it matters, it is an Imation CD-RW.

Any tips on getting my computer to recognize this disk?

Thanks,

KennyBanya

Does your burner support + or - media? Both?

Have you formatted the disc?

Is the disc right side up?

It probably just doesn't recognize the media. It happens, especially with RW's. You could update the firmware on your drive and see if that helps.

If not, just go out and buy a single CDRW by a different brand (Memorex seems to have good compatibility). That way you can isolate the problem to being the disc or the drive.

To the above poster, cd's don't come in +/-, that's DVD's.
