As far as eats go, the steakhouse at Seneca Niagara is the best restauranut between all 3, IMO... I believe once the hotel opens (December?), Seneca Niagara will be my top choice. Casino Niagara is a dump, lets face it. If you are planning on lodging, then stick to the other 2 casinos...

Twenty One at the Casino Niagara.

It used to be good, but it's now a crappy buffet restaurant.

Argh. That's horrible. It was really a nice place, food and atmosphere was great. Oh well...

Just went to Seneca Niagara - great Low limit holdem ( I played some 2-4). We were up for a wedding, so didn't see much.

All in all - Canada has more to do besides the casinos, but I did like Seneca. I have a review/trip report on the page right now.

Agreed. This might be temporary though, as they are doing all kinds of renovating at the old casino.

Hey Mike, I'm a dealer in the poker room at Seneca so take my review with a grain of salt . If your looking for a casino package you'll probably need to stay at Fallsview Casino in Canada. Casino Niagara doesn't have a hotel and Seneca's won't be complete until the end of the year. Also the entertainment is better on the other side, though its only a short walk across the border if you decide to stay on the American side. For the actual casinos Fallsview is the nicest to look at, Casino Niagara is a dump. Seneca has by far the best customer service and has free drinks, parking etc.

As for the poker rooms they spread the following:

Seneca Niagara (16 tables)

Limit: 2/4, 3/6, 4/8
No Limit: 1/2 (40min/100max), 2/5 (100min/200max), 5/5 (200min/500max) and 10/20 (500min/no max) No Limit on Tuesdays and Thursdays
3/6 Omaha H/L with a kill (usually on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)
1-5 Spread 7 Stud every day
Daily tournaments and Satellites

We also take lists for other games, like higher limit games and crazy pineapple but they rarely take off unless we have a big tournament or its a holiday.

Casino Niagara (14 tables)

Limit 2/4, 3/6
No Limit 1/2 (40min/100max)
No tournaments
They usually get a 4/8 or 6/12 limit and 2/5 NL on weekends

Casino Fallsview (8 tables)

Limit: 6/12, 10/20, 20/40 (not sure how often they spread this, may just be on weekends) and very rarely I hear they spread a 50/100 game
No Limit: 5/5 (500 max), 5/10 (1000 max?)
No tournaments
I believe they spread a higher NL game on the weekends but I work those days so not sure on how often it runs.

Casino Fallsview runs the high limit games, they get most of the high rollers from Toronto, and the games are the loosest in Canada, though its offset by the dealers. They're ass-achingly slow over there, about 2/3rds of them can't pitch cards and struggle to get in 10 hands in every half hour. Most of the floors are equally incompetent there, they came straight off the blackjack tables and most never dealt a hand of poker in their life. Their poker room is on the floor if you like a bit of action around you.

Casino Niagara is a dump and IMHO theres no reason to go there unless you are a Low Limit player and you can't play at Seneca because you work there.

Seneca has free parking, drinks, better customer service and for the most part our dealers are competent.

For rakes Seneca drops 3 on the flop another at 40, for 4 max, except on the 5/5 and higher NL games, which is a $5 session every half hour, there is a more favorable rake on 10/20 when we run it (2 on the flop, 1 at 50, 1 at 100). In both places in Canada they take 10% of the pot up to $5 and all NL games are $5 session (which is a crime considering how many hands they get out). Waiting lists are also shorter at Seneca on most days.

If your looking for a NL, Stud, Omaha, a 4/8 or lower limit game or tournaments come to Seneca. If your looking for a higher limit game head over to Fallsview.
