Tough turn decision (?) 6-handed 10-20 LB
Some background history: Villain had been playing crazy on a 6-handed 5-10 table with me and lost like 1500 to me in 30 hands. Then he went up to 10-20 6-handed and I followed. When this hand came up I had played 50-60 hands with him (total) and I didn't know if he was: tilting, drunk or just very laggish. He seemed to be playing better at this level and winning more pots but still overbetting and bluffing.
Well here's the hand: - Villain sitting in seat 1 with $3354.70 [Dealer] - Seat 2 $400.00 [Sitting out] - SB 3 $1081.36 - BB 4 $1351.00 - Hero sitting in seat 5 with $4606.15 - Seat 6 with $3307.56 posted the small blind - $10.00 posted the big blind - $20.00 ** Dealing card to Hero: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero raised - $60.00 Seat 6 folded Villain called - $60.00 SB folded BB folded Dealing the flop (150): A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero bet - $150.00 Villain called - $150.00 Dealing the turn (450): Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero bet - $450.00 Villain raised - $1350.00 Hero? All help and comments is greatly appreciated. As you all can see there is only J-10 that beats Hero. |

Kick yourself for not betting more on the flop, then push. If hit his gutshot not a big deal but betting more on this flop is an excellent idea. There two flush draws on the board so I wouldn't be suprised to see villain with one of them probably with a pair.

Re: Tough turn decision (?) 6-handed 10-20 LB
Well thats what I did and river came a queen giving me full house beating his straight.
It's just that I felt like a real donkey afterwards. Is it possible to get away on turn? What about calling with the idea of getting a showdown if [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] falls and pushing river if board pairs? Villain has 1700 behind on turn. |

Feel like a donkey for going all in with top set? The only hand that could beat you on the turn was a Gut Shot straight JT?

So if the last diamond or club hits he certainly isn't checking. He'd already have invested too much to give you a free showdown or check/fold. |

Re: Tough turn decision (?) 6-handed 10-20 LB
Well it cost me 2800 more to go all-in in a pot I've invested 650.
The only other hand I can imagine him calling flop and raising turn is 5-5. I think K-K is very unlikely since he would most certainly reraise preflop. I raised from first position and I bet pott on flopp and turn so on the turn he has to give me credit for at least two pair on that board, right? I think my handrange is narrow when I've bet pott on turn. AA, KK, AK, or AQ looks very likely to villain. I had that ugly feeling that you get when you are behind and thought; I have top set, I could be behind but I'm not folding this one because I can river him. And then when I rivered him I thought it was stupid thinking. |
