It took me just a couple seconds to think that Black needs to play ...Kh8 to ensure he doesn't get caught in a tactical shot due to the exposed check.

Unless I saw a forced winning combination, I would certainly play ...Kh8.

BTW, when you are blockading pawns, Queens do a very poor job. They are too easily driven off the square.


When posting a chess position, it can be valuable to post the whole game. You might get some additional insight.

you can win this game.

Queen to F7. this is the only move you have right now. its up to erik to play mistake free from then on, there are things he can do where you can win and even though you said "assume he plays perfectly" nobody really does 100% of the time.

anyways, it'll buy you a few moves.
