I used to believe party might be rigged. Then I stopped playing while I was drunk.

I have read most of the posts here and my opinon is why should the sites bother to rig the site? The might get caught and lose millions if not billions of dollers. If they run a clean site they stand to make millions or billions. There is cheating going on by players, I believe. But, I do not believe the online sites are rigged. There is cheating going on in B&M I think. My day job is progamming.

Seriously...how is that even a question. If it is or isn't that may be a legit question. And don't use B&Ms making money as any kind of proof it is legit. B7Ms have used plants to generate pot sizes for as long as there has been a rake. That is fact not speculation.

I actually have heard about things like this being done, but this isn't rigging the game or the deck. I don't doubt that they can do that; Full Tilt advertises that they do it! But the initial argument was that the software is fixed. Either the cards are arranged a certain way, or that certain people are dealt certain hands, or whatever you want to say.

I've heard all about casinos using props to help move the game; but from what I understand is that it's usually only when there are very few people at the casino, and there isn't really any action. I could be wrong, and I'm sure there are some that do otherwise. Uhh... I think I made my point.

Player teaming has been done before and is the easiest way to cheat. I believe that Stars just caught a case of collusion not too long ago. This is the best way to rig a game of poker. If 2 (or more) players are raising through the roof and you're caught between, unless you have the nuts or no brain, you're going to kick it in. The way the scam goes is, they convince you to lay down and on the river one folds to the other or on the chance that one of them actually has a hand, they get to show down a winner.

Now, theorize for a second that this scam is done by the sites themselves. That the site has plants to come on and through collusion (hell if we're theorizing, let's say it's even a step higher...SMART collusion while knowing hands on the board) and in that way, they can cheat.

That's probably the most likely scenario for sites cheating. The theory of "action flops" and miracle river bad beats would have been proven statistically by now were there any truth to it.

For the record I believe in no way that any sites are cheating. It just makes no sense to do so, when being caught would absolutely filet you.

Well, if I got a really good idee how to do it, why should I tell the sites?

Here's how you can rig it. All you need to do is have a bot that gets a nut hand every once in a while and is programmed to never fold that hand to whatever happens. This would return in-play money to the House. Programming the betting characteristics of the bot would be tough, but attainable. These probably don't exist at the moment, but it's always a possibility.

The Cardroom would not make any more money by rigging the action. The mind plays tricks on itself, and this is never more true than when emotions are high. Some people have tricked themselves into believing foolish things. Online poker is more random than what is dealt in any casino.
