Default Would you?

I can only get 5 people together (total) for this weeks home poker tour. Would you still hold a tourney?

Most of these players are new with limited cash flow.

If so, how would you structure it to make the most of the night... we are just a bunch of friends hanging out.. not looking to kill each other.

I'd have a cash game with stakes comparable to your tourney buy-in (but that's just me).

With 5-7, run 2 or 3 tournaments, 60-90 mins each.

Set it up so your blinds go up every 10 mins until after 90 mins, the BB is about half the total chipcount.

Maybe something like this (assuming 7 players with 100 chips each):

:00 2/5
:10 5/10
:20 8/15
:30 12/25
:40 25/50
:50 35/75
1:00 50/100
1:10 80/175
1:20 125/250
1:30 175/350
