I won't even explain how bad a bet that is, even though Ivey's just a plain beast.

even though they gave those guys horrible odds, they're gonna be so screwed if they have to actually pay people who bet on these big names.

This is for 1st place, right? As good as Phil Ivey is, he has a history of chip dumping, plus, from all accounts, there's too much luck in poker to be 770-1 to win, and if you've played some MTT's, you would have figured that out.

They will make so much money on the people who bet on Dan N, Howard L., Fossilman, etc. etc. etc. etc. that they can afford to pay off those who bet on Ivey.

I hope you win it. Ivey is the classiest player around and deserves to be a champion more than anyone.

Also, it's interesting how everyone is slamming your $6 bet when many people spend that much on a crappy cup of coffee from Starbucks.

Odds of getting "paid off" (namely, a halfway decent cup of coffee) for $6 at Starbucks = pretty much 1-to-1

Odds of getting paid off on a bet for Phil Ivey to win WSOP when placed before the tournament starts w/field of 6000: significantly more than 700-to-1.

All ye know, all ye need to know.
