my parents were brutally honest.

this is why i was the kid in the second grade telling the other second graders that there was no such thing as santa clause or the easter bunny .

[/ QUOTE ]

wow, my parents got so many calls from angry parents when I was in first grade and told the class there was no santa, that was sweet.

My parents always lied, they always said "We'll tell you when you are older" to just about every question I asked... WELL! I'm still waiting.

When I was about 7, we were driving in the car over a bridge - I saw a sign that said, "Not to exceed 12,000 pounds" or something similar...I asked my Dad how did they know how much weight the bridge could take?

My Dad said, "Well, they keep driving heavier and heavier trucks over the first bridge until it collapses. Then they build the bridge again and put up a sign with the last truck's weight on it."

Made sense to me.

You see those cows that stand on the hill all day, that makes the uphill leg shorter. When they move to level ground, they walk in circles.

Sears Toughskins in Husky.... No wonder I got the [censored] beat out of me in gradeschool...

As for the lie, I never went blind nor do I have a hairy palm. I also happy to report that my face didn't stick that way....
