(Semi OT) I\'m not so good with this math stuff. Call?
Disclaimer. This is from a MTT. But this forum seems to be were the fold or call specialists hang.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t4000 Ante 200(8 handed) converter CO (t65225) Button (t93496) SB (t73515) Hero (t14592) UTG (t117314) UTG+1 (t36896) MP1 (t48041) MP2 (t1241) Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 5 folds, Button raises to t14000, 1 fold Hero? Lets just say I called, and the hole table laughed at me. All much better players than me. It was around 40 left of a stars 10+1 MTT. I thought I needed to test my luckbox, since the final table is were the money is at and slowly dying to make $7 more than I was already guaranteed doesn't seem like a good deal. I figured if I folded I'm in the SB with 2 BB next hand. I wont have any FE no matter what I do, and will probably never be able to get in first anyway. And if I wait much longer even doubling up won't buy me any FE. Button could have any two cards. Why not take what is likely a 60/40 dog to triple up now instead of waiting? Why is this wrong? Am I just trying to rationalize a horrible call? |

Why do it now when you will almost surely have a better hand next hand?
Edit: I totally missed the fact that you are the BB. I still fold and wait for a better hand. |
