Didnt you win with a SanFran Busboy??
Hmmmm...I seem to recall you beat someones pocket aces with that hand.
Of course you put him on a steal raise and flopped a monster. |

Re: Help with low-mid Pocket Pairs?
I do not normally play low pocket pairs from early and mid position. Given your call you played it well.
I do not normally raise from the blinds with pocket JJ into multiple opponents. You will not knock anyone out and are very vulnerable to overcards. You played the hand well and got beat. Happens all the time. |

Re: Help with low-mid Pocket Pairs?
If 7 are usually seeing the flop for 1 bet, i'd play 22 UTG with no questions asked.
Always raise JJ in the blinds. |

Re: Help with low-mid Pocket Pairs?
The only, and I mean ONLY temptation to slow-play your set is that the better is on your RIGHT AND the flop is fairly safe (no-one has a flukey straight draw). Even so, raising and narrowing the field is by no means a disaster.
If I were dead last to act and the player on my right bet after several had called, I MAY be tempted to call, hehehe, and let others catch up. But generally just flail away and don't worry about it. - Louie |

Re: Help with low-mid Pocket Pairs?
You played both very well.
The only way Id have played it differntly would be, Id smooth call the JJ in the SB and check raise the flop when it came down rags. Id say that is the best way to play it against such a large field of callers seeing the flop |
