Default First Hand AK??!?!?!?!?!?

10/20 blinds

$10 buy in

On Button with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

UTG raises to 220???? MP calls, I call

Pot 990 (3 players)

Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Checked to me, I go all in figuring I can't get away from the hand and block out flush draws.

Not really. Any decent bet here commits you to this pot, and you have a great hand. Getting it all in on the flop is good.

I'm guessing 1500. So he has 1280 behind and the pot is 990. getting it all in here in a 10+1 seems pretty good to me. Whatever bet that makes that happen seems fine. For me this is specially true since it's the first hand. I'm more willing to take risks like this early, since there are more donks around.

I agree you can't get away from this hand AT THIS POINT. I also think that you aren't pushing a flush draw out with an all in bet (I'm assuming you have 1000 starting chips). This being said, a flush draw would need to call 780 with a pot of 1770 (990 pot plus your allin). He has the odds to call here.

Therefore, I'd check behind and wait to see what the turn brings. You are either far ahead, or far behind. Especially considering the fact that UTG came in with a huge preflop raise THEN checked the flop... If the turn doesn't bring a club, then you can make flush draws call with bad odds. If a club turns, you can NOW get away from the hand and live to play another day. If someone hit a set, then you are probably destined to lose it all anyway.
