Default Simple question

How big of a leak would it be, if any, to never fold TPGK to a turn check raise in a HU pot without any reads? Mainly speaking of 2/4 online full ring games. I dont know how many times ive been turn checkraised when a scare card hits, they have top pair with a worse kicker, middle pair or picked up a draw.

That is why i post this question. I personally think that it wouldnt be a leak or at least a major one.

How much different does having a third person in the pot make when analyzing this situation?

Any one have any other thoughts on this?

Interesting question, I'd like to see some responses on this. I run into this situation a lot with AK when I flop TPTK against one or two opponents and after betting the flop, I get check-raised on the turn. I almost always end up paying better hands off and playing too passively against hands I beat. Is it a leak to check call the river when this happens? Can you fold in this situation if you have no read? Sorry to be asking more questions but this is a topic that I often struggle with.

Insufficient information.

There are many different situations.

Was it raised?

If so, who raised and from what position?

What is the top pair? Makes a differences how they perceive your hand.

Who's new to the table? You or them.

If you're new, what kind of image do you want to project to the table as a whole?

Could they have a flush draw with their pair?

Could they legitimately have a reason to think you don't have top pair, or maybe a weak kicker if an unraised pot?

As you can see, there are many things to consider.

After the first round or two you should have sufficient knowledge of the players to be able to start fine tuning your decisions. If you change tables so often you can't get a read, I would suggest just folding since most players aren't check raising without having top pair beat. It will keep your deviation down, but may not be as profitable as having a good read on your opponent.

TPGK vs. TPTK. Slightly different. Domination is a real possibility with TPGK.

Anyway, I assume you were the preflop aggressor and came out firing after villian checked the flop. Nice move. Turn comes out and villian checks again. Bet that sucker. Uh oh! He raises? That would be a checkraise! Crap. Where am I at?

It is time to reprocess all the information available to you up to this point. The problem with being a TAG like we all try to be, is that we are easily trapped. People love waiting for the turn to trap when they flop a set. Heck, I try it once in a while myself. Others can't give up a pocket pair and hit their set on the turn prompting a CR.

What does the board look like and what, based on preflop action, might you suspect him to have? If there is a draw on board, you might be ahead and a reraise might be correct. In a tough situation like this, remember, all you have is a pair. Except for high card, it's the bottom of the barrel at showdown, which ironically wins its fair share.

In most situations, I think calling his raise is correct. In others, reraising. If he caps, then I'm all confused and probably leak money. Then the river comes out and you now have a new set of problems.

Okay, my final answer. I'm clueless. I suck.
