Do I have the equity to raise here?
Everyone except BB is loose/fishy. BB seems pretty solid.

I have 8 outs to the straight, and I give myself 4 outs for overcards(too much?). Is this enough equity for the flop raise? |

Re: Do I have the equity to raise here?
Double-gutter is 8 outs, but should probably be discounted to ~6 because only the Q gives you the nuts. I think 4 is a little steep for your overcards, since either one also puts three to a straight on the board, so call them ~2. So, call it around 8 outs. 8 outs gives you around 32% equity, so you don't have the edge to raise with only 2 players already in with you, but since you've got position the raise may get you a free turn card if you need it, might clean up your overcard outs, and being 3-bet would make your hand REAL easy to release if it didn't hit on the turn, so I like the raise, here.

Re: Do I have the equity to raise here?
Given your read BB is likely tight enough to fold to your 2bet thus you have to decide if your equity is >33%. I'm tempted to discount the J out's completely and give 1.5 to the K, so you're just below the 33% needed for an equity raise. You are in position however and this bet may also provide a free turn if you want to take it, so if these are passive players I like it. |

Re: Do I have the equity to raise here?
I'm not sure I raise preflop, but I don't think it's a bad play either.
Flop: I like the raise if you think it will likely get you a free look at the river. As for equity, it's close. I think 12 outs is a tad overestimating. I'm thinking more like 10. Given the table read (passive players), I don't mind it at all, as you can probably take a free card if you need it. |
