Default Atlantic City Tournaments

A couple of buddies and I are going to AC in mid-November. I typically play low limit tables online, with a couple mtt's thrown in for fun. One of them wants to play a tournament on the weekend. My question is where would we find 1.) a tourny that weekend, between $50-100 entry fee? and 2.) some soft 3/6 or 5/10 games?

Borgata has tournaments that are $60 buyin with a $15 entry fee.

Payout is $500 for 1st, $100 for 2nd.

That's a damn 25% rake just for playing tournament. I think you should try the 1/2NL tables instead where you can buyin for about $80-100 and sit comfortably.

huh? The payout is based on how many enter. Last Borg tourney I played that was $60+15 payed like $3200 to the winner.

Showboat has an incredibly cheap $40+$10 tourney with a very good structure 5k chips, 20 minute levels and no antes! Best low dollar tourney in AC

Tropicana has a Sunday 12:15 $100 + $25 and they get about 100 players. I haven't played in it yet but it sounds like a good one. The rake is ridiculous but I think pretty typical of AC tourneys. I'm a fan of the Trop - their site has the rake structure for the tourney if you're interested.

As far as cash games go, everything from 2/4 to 6/12 is quite soft everywhere. I know that's not much on specifics, but you shouldn't have a problem anywhere.

No. Well, not really. For a low buy-in ($100 or lower), 20% is as good as it gets, and even comparatively cheap. Have to go $175 and up to get under 20%.

I compiled this list from the casino websites and re-checked it recently. I don't guarantee accuracy, but it should be reasonably close. If I'm missing any rooms that run tourneys in AC, or if anything is vastly incorrect, let me know.
