Some smart place should figure out a way to profit from this
For example, start a fantasy baseball league and use the chips to buy players. For one of the smaller sites this kind of thing might make enough money to be worthwhile after registration fees or whatever. Lots of folks pay big bucks to play in these leagues so why not take advantage.
I still maintain, the people running these poker sites display an extreme poverty of imagination given the wonderful new toy they have at their disposal. |

Re: Some smart place should figure out a way to profit from this
why are you so sure that this market does not exist only for the sole purpose of non-qualifying, possible colluders, dumpers and MINORS to have a way to get their grubs on some stars real money?
this is my only objection (and fears) |

Re: Some smart place should figure out a way to profit from this
why are you so sure that this market does not exist only for the sole purpose of non-qualifying, possible colluders, spake Granny: dumpers and MINORS to have a way to get their grubs on some stars real money? this is my only objection (and fears) I not so sure. But then as a minor I played .25 cent poker from time to time just like millions of other american kids. I don't share the industry's faux "concern" about minors becoming addicted to gambling. I think it's far worse to keep them sheltered until they're 21, and then unleashing them to the wolves, or rather casinos, like lambs to the slaughter. Plus gambling games are excellent ways to teach kids probability concepts. If it were up to me they'd devote the entire 7th grade math class to prob. and stats, and use dice and decks of cards as props. Instead, lots of folks get to "learn" at a roulette table. |
