You should have saved this for the 2+2 magazine, they would have paid you $200. Rgds Alex |

[ QUOTE ]
Men tend to be less empathic, more competitive, and more obnoxious than women. [/ QUOTE ] and women generally smell better too. |

Re: I hate poker players
Any buddy else notice that nl players are more obnoxious than limit players (present company excluded of course)? Whenever I sit down at a party nl table someone is actively berating another player about a hand that happened god knows how long ago.
a happy table is a good table, even online. |

[ QUOTE ]
people talking about poker embarrasses me. I appreciate that the popularity yields good games but these WPT fanbois really [censored] piss me off. when my family asks me about it I get embarrassed. I dont'w ant to talk about it. [/ QUOTE ] Me too, I don't really know why though. And Alobar I agree with you and this is why I almost never play live, it's depressing. |

Re: I hate poker players
[ QUOTE ]
I hate that I cant make it through more than 5 minutes of celebrity poker while watching TV with my GF, because havng to watch people who cant play poker, makes me want to vomit blood. [/ QUOTE ] i feel the exact same way about celebrity poker showdown however this is the best poker show out there it probably has the best chance of attracting new people to poker. I doubt a lot of new players are going to come from WSOP and WPT coverage, but alot of people (your girlfriend and my girlfriend) will watch celebrity poker just because their favorite movie star is on. people who normally would never put on a poker show. It also doesn't hurt that Dave Foley and Phil Gordon can be mildly entertaining (or brilliant in comparison to norman chad) all that being said, i hate watching the show, but i think it is good for poker |

Re: I hate poker players
[ QUOTE ]
Since im one for broad generalizations and sweeping comments, heres another one. "xxxxxxxxxxxxx" are the biggest assholes in the world. [/ QUOTE ] yes, mostly true..lol. You could insert a lot of things were the xxxxxxxxxxxxxx is thou. Any occupation or event where there is winning and losing of money or power will have a greater concentration of these people. Smile, and try to ignore it. Get laid tonight, life will feel better tomorrow. regards |

Re: I hate poker players
I also hate poker players, and now that all of my friends play poker I can honestly say that it has made them all worse friends. This applies to me as well.

Re: I hate poker players
[ QUOTE ]
summarises perfectly why i have chat off 99% of the time. [/ QUOTE ] ditto. I think one of the reasons that poker players are so anxious to let every one know how much they know is pride, unlike other games or sports where you can quickly display your abilities (driving range, warm up before a tennis, basketball, football game, etc.) Poker is a game of patience, you can be the best player in the world but no one my know for the first 100, so the player that “THINKS” he knows poker can’t wait for people to see how good he is, so he has to advertise it. The bottom line is that the players that do this are not good players or at least not smart ones. Poker should be played like hustling pool, and I think the smart players know this. So let them talk, let them explain how they would play a hand, let them tell you how much money they win and just wait, since they will quiet down once the money runs out and they leave the table. |
