Is this the quintessential overplayed Queens at a 3/6 limit game?

Folded to girl on my immediate right in MP who calls (she has seen every flop since she sat down)
I raise with QQ.
Folded all the way down to SB who calls, and BB who raises.
Girl calls, I 3-bet, SB calls, BB caps, all call.
-both SB and BB have raised early preflop with suited conenctors like TJ, but there has been little 3-betting/capping so I didn't know what their restrictions were to do that.

Flop : J 4 6 Rainbow

SB checks, BB bets, girl folds, I raise, SB calls, BB 3-bets, I cap, both call.

Turn: [J 4 6] 7 completes rainbow. At this point all 3 of us in the hand have over buttons, which means that the betting increases from 3/6 to 5/10. SB checks, BB checks nervously. I bet 10, SB folds, BB calls.

River: [J 4 6 7] A
BB checks and looks increasingly anxious. I bet, BB says 'good hand man..' then calls.
He shows KK and is very surprised to take it. He told me he had me on aces.

How should I have done this all differently?

It doesn't seem too overplayed. I would most likely raise the turn instead of capping the flop.

The river really stinks up your hand. It's hard to imagine a hand that you beat that will call, but the river bet is still a good bluff. If you're raised you're almost certainly behind and can fold. Especially with your tell that the player is scared, and that he begun his slowdown on the turn, I think there is some chance he might let go a better hand .... (for instance, KK).

I think the betting preflop tells you that queens may not be good. I'd probably not cap the flop and I'd definitely not bet the river. What can he have that you beat?

- according to you, there were 5 bets preflop, so that doesn't make sense
- you played the hand fine. he played his KK like a little girl.

Nothing that will likely call, but there are a lot of hands you don't beat that may fold.

I can think of only 1 hand that is better than QQ that might fold on that river....KK and he called.

I've got to disagree. All the betting pre-flop screams JJ-AA, or maybe AKs. The flop raising war should tell him he's screwed. It's pretty safe to eliminate AKs with all the raising. That leaves JJ,KK, or AA, all of which beat him. I'm not saying to fold, but he should have slowed down.

Not if you're playing by the Sklansky method. I believe he suggests putting in the last bet from any position with AKs.

I generally don't assume I'm up against a "Sklansky Method" player in a low-limit game. Maybe that's my mistake though.

Fair enough. I think it certainly depends on your opposition. If you're up against a more passive crowd you might be able to find a fold somewhere.
