Default Chronic \"bet minner\"

My read on this guy is that he raises min or bets pot preflop, min or pot at streets. Bet mins usually means he thinks he might have the best hand, but it can also mean he has an extreme hand like top trips or nuts. Ace high or middle/bottom pair can also be the case. Everyone is at about 1500 but I am at 3000 from busting a trips to my flopped full house. Blinds are 10 20, preflop im UTG and limp with 44. He raises min, bb and I call.

Flop (board: 9s Kd 8d):

bb checks. hero checks. villan
checks.

Turn (board: 9s Kd 8d 5h):

bb checks. hero checks. villan
bets 20. bb folds. hero calls.

River (board: 9s Kd 8d 5h 4h):

hero bets XXXX.

What would you do in my position at that river? Pot was 170.

I think I would bet around T100 here, and call a small reraise. If he pushes I would give him credit for a Larger set or hitting his Str8 on the turn.

With your chip lead, I would be aggressive and bet double the pot. It is only 10% of your stack, but he may feel your tring to buy it and call with 2 pair or worse. The only cards your scard of is someone slow playing a set twice or a 6,7, which he may have with his betting tendencies. If he goes over the top of you enough to jepordize your chip lead, you can get out, but I think It is worth the bet either to take the pot or be called by a lesser hand.

i hope you are joking...there's no way we aren't seening a showdown w/ this hand. I don't care if we min raise all the way to the felt...there are just too many hands we're beating.

that'd be my read of the word chronic here... at 10/20, only read if seen for this tourney only would be "acute" or at worst, sub-acute.
