Default Look who finished 7th in the $2500 WCOOP

Pokerstars made $149,400 running that tourney. Sick how much these sites make. Pokerstars must make a million a day.

yea this is no surprise... and tournaments don't make them as much money as cash games...

and they aren't even the biggest cash game site.. Imaginge ht emoney Party pulls in.

Ridiculous. But nothing wrong with it.

What about tons of national TV advertising, computer operations and software, staff in Costa Rica and India or whatever, and probably a lot of other things?

4% rake is pretty low for live and online tournaments.

Low estimate, IMHO. If you want a better idea, go to the cash games on like 9:00 on a weekday for a nice average sample, and sum up (hands per hour * $/pot * .0025) (.0025 because stars is godly and rounds rake down) for all the little tables, and just $3 * hands/hour for all the big tables. Then throw in the sum of the entrants times the fee for all tournies that started that hour. This'll give you a rough idea of the hourly wage stars pays itself.

Right now, at 2:30 on a monday, stars is running a total of 226 10/20 NL hands per hour, 251 5/10 NL, 220 3/6 NL, over 300 30/60 limit, and 280 15/30. That makes a total of 1277 hands/hour for an hourly wage of $3831/hour from just the highest stakes cash games at totally off-peak hours.

I'm sure a data miner could get keep track of the rake stars takes in a full week's cycle so we could get a real nice idea.

BTW, clever title.

Also, I assume we all agree that stars does by far a better job of taking care of its customers than any of the other major sites.

Thanks. It's funny how we all complain, but we'll never go away.
