See I think this involves way more than just looking for implied odds. If villain has QQ for instance and an A or K flops you can likely take down the pot on the turn or flop if you have a good enough read. Still I'm generally not calling for more than 8% of my stack.

Clearly I am making some simplifying assumptions in my OP that ignore Hero's ability to outplay Villian after the flop.

However, I think that the combination of redraws and scary boards where we get no action on our big hands probably pretty much cancel them out.

BB is a nit PF and will be making this raise with QQ+ and maybe AKs. He will go broke with an overpair or TPTK every time.

10% of effective stacks with any pp is pretty nuts. You are pretty much assuming 100% that villian will give you his whole stack when u flop a set.

I was replying to the posts on the 5-10 rule that said always call 10% with pp.

read more carefully.

the 5-10 rule states that if its UNDER 5 its a CLEAR call, OVER 10 its a CLEAR fold, BETWEEN 5-10 its at your discretion

I was replying to BOTH but my comment obviously was in reply to the misinformed post on the 5-10 rule. Jesus man read my post.
