Default AIDS-King offsuit

8/16 at the Bike. Shant's worst nightmare. Every player is fatter and more obnoxious than the next. It takes 15 minutes to play a hand because one drunk keeps exchanging purple $25 chips for green $2 chips -- every. single. time. he. bets. or. calls. And some other prick acts like each decision is for the WPT Championship. And he sucks. The ones that aren't fat have bad breath. I can't table change because it's a must move game. I don't drive over to Commerce because it's worse over there.

CO in this hand is a tight, thinking player. He has a lot of chips. My image is good; I've only shown down winners/strong hands.

A fish open-limps UTG. CO raises, I 3-bet on the button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. LAGgy SB who might as well be smacking his cock up and down on the felt between hands cold-calls 2.5, the fish folds, and CO calls. 3 to the flop.

Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

SB checks, CO checks, I bet. SB calls, CO raises, I 3-bet, SB folds. CO caps, and I taste the hamburger I ate for dinner come back up my esophagus and burn my throat like hot sand. By that I mean, I call.

Turn brings the 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Now CO checks. WTF? OK, so I bet. CO raises. I cry, peel all my toenails off, put them in the rack where my chips used to be, pour Tobasco sauce on the open wounds, and fold.

I continue playing live because online is even worse.

Questions: Does anyone just call the flop c/r and raise the turn? Does anyone check the turn behind and call a river bet UI? Does anyone call down the turn c/r? Does anyone stop playing poker?

CO's turn check is wtf. I'd check behind and not because he checkraised you on the turn. I mean cap the raggedy draw-less flop then check the turn? And if I bet the turn I would fold to his checkraise.

Against a tricky thinking player, I'm checking behind. He has AT or TT or AA here like always. His turn check is pretty bad.

I would have bet that turn too... the temptation is nearly impossible to resist. I like the fold, I would have called down and lost.

I think it's either check the turn and call the river or bet the turn and fold to a c/r.

I think checking the turn is superior because at least you'll piss off the CO.

Not to mention you'll get to see the river and outdraw his AT once every billion years or so.

I'm not sure I'll ever be creative enough to present a hand in a such an entertaining fashion.

Awesome post. Had me laughing.

Against someone tricky I risk a free card in favor of showing the hand down... based on the board and the action I think we are more likely to need the free card, and we might be drawing dead. So I check the turn and pay it off.

I like your motivation for checking the turn, but I'm thinking CO was probably pretty disappointed at how the big streets in this hand played out.

I mean, he got to get in his checkraise, but it takes some of the fun out of it when that checkraise doesn't get paid off.

I think I'd check this turn out of fear and confusion. You only beat AQ and AJ and I doubt villain puts in so many bets on this type of flop wtih AQ or AJ. There are no draws on the board so he must be made.

Fold is good the way you played.
