If you had just one pair, or if the board were much more coordinated, I'd say no. But with 2-pair, I'll go ahead and bet around 1/2 - 2/3 pot for value. As an added benefit, your value bet acts as a kind of a blocker, since there's very few hands you beat which will check-raise.

I think it's very standard. I think it's highly unlikely villain has a set here and the only 2 pair hand you are worried bout is QT. Villain looks kind of like he's on a draw but he could have TP here and be unwilling to lay it down. I'd probably go half pot here.

ive been known to steal with q8s in LP after a long stretch of folding.

6max, I think opening from CO with Q8s is acceptable.
At the very least, I do it frequently [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]
