Default Total Newbie Question

Hello,
I currently am playing party .5/1 limit ring games, and want to start playing cheap tournaments as well - starting with limit SnG tournaments. Is there any post that I should read that will give me some basic advice? Particularly on what hands to play once the table gets short handed.

Thanks for any pointers,

In the sticky in the top of this forum there is a couple threads pertaining to new players, I just read them yesterday! Very good reads!

Thanks for the pointer, but the FAQ and posts seem to be focused on NL - how big a bet to make etc. Any info our there directed to limit?

I've looked around on the forums and can't find any.

I too started at limit but quickly changed to NL when I found 1.) NL games were much easier to find; 2.) softer, because that's where the casual players were, the ones who watch Gus Hanson on WPT and think "I can do that".

I thought limit SnGs were interesting, but all the action is in NL right now. Unless you insist on being a limit specialist, switch to NL.

Thanks for the tip. I had thought about going into limit as it seemed like a natural growth from my limit ring game experience. It seems like no-one really pays much attention to the limit tournaments - maybe being a specialist would work well for me. I will try both out and see what I would rather work on.
