Default Will Dynasty Play A WSOP Event This Time?

He seems to have been "edging" towards playing one the last couple of years....

Nope, unless I win some type of online freeroll tournament.

I had my heart broken a few weeks ago when I was chip leader with about 60 players left in a large tournament. Then, an all-in speciallist did his thing a couple positions of the button. I called him in the big blind with AJo for about 1/3 of my stack. He had A8s and hit a flush on the river.

If I had won that hand, I would have had about a 50% chip lead on the 2nd place guy. As these things go sometimes, I couldn't make anything work afterwards and got knocked out without even cracking the Top 20.

AJo is an auto-muck under those circumstances.

Hope ya change your mind and take a shot at one of the smaller LHE events. K or two won't be missed orta yer monster 'roll.

No chance. He had pushed in with some seriously cheesy stuff like K6s. Even before the action got to him, I thought "If he pushes, I'm calling".

Wrong forum, but I agree with Bill:

You are chip leader
Move in specialist has apparently decent stack (if not, then I agree with call)
No need to risk chips to large overbet, even if fairly sure you have the best hand at the time.
Aren't you even worse off if he has K6? Two live cards as opposed to one.
Seems to me that you have position on this guy and he may do it again when you have a "real" hand.

I should've added a qualifier like this. After seeing the K6 push, yes, I likely call too w/AJo, for all the reasons MLG listed in the 73o thread.

The only hands I would call his all in with is AA and maybe KK.

I know you probably felt you had the best hand here, but even still you can't afford to put yourself on the line with a 35% chance of being destroyed meaning AJ vs two random cards.
Thats a bet you really don't want to take at that point.

Dynasty the fact that people are telling you to fold here should make it pretty clear that you should play in the WSOP. Anyone who passes up clear +EV when it is only 1/3 of their stack is insane. This is one of the strengths of having a big stack- you can afford to play all your +EV situations because you don't have to risk busting. There are 60 people left in this tourney, you aren't going to win by only playing aces and kings. You still have to accumulate chips.

You want him to fold when he clearly feels he has the best hand for 1/3 of his stack?

Please.
